The Arenite Pants from Sew Liberated can be made in both woven and knit fabrics making it an amazingly flexible pattern. They’re slouchy and have deep pocket for stashing any number of items. There are three leg finishing options: a knit cuff, an elasticated woven cuff, or a dressier hem. The view for knit fabrics has two cuff options, for effortless loungewear.
The pattern would suit most levels of sewers apart perhaps from those just learning to thread a needle! You’ll learn to sew French seams, flat-felled seams, and how to add a comfortable non-twist elastic waistband. It’s a great pattern to if you’ve never made pants before being quite forgiving.
The pants can be made as very comfortable loungewear or made in a stylish woven fabric can be dressed up for wearing out during the day or night.
Pair with a relaxed top or t-shirt for round the house, add a blazer or jumper for running errands or a stylish top for a relaxed going out outfit.
Suggested Fabrics
View A is designed for woven fabrics with fantastic drape. For the main pant, look for rayon challis, tencel twill, or silk noil. For the knit cuff option, you will also need 1/2 yard (0.5 m) of knit fabric with lycra or spandex content to ensure good recovery.
For View B, choose knit fabrics, such as French terry, interlock, lighter sweatshirting or mid-weight jersey.

US 0 – 34 (approx. UK 6 – 32). Please see the designers size guide in the provided images.
The pattern is drafted for a height of 5’5″. The waistband sits about 1″ below the natural waist, and the hem falls to the ankle bone. Your hip measurement is key, as the waist can be adjusted to fit snugly with the elastic waistband. However, if your waist measurement is larger than your hip measurement, go with your waist measurement.
